Le sélectionneur national, Vladimir Petkovic, s’est rendu à Sétif jeudi pour assister à l’entraînement de l’Entente, puis au stade du 8 mai 1945 le vendredi après-midi pour suivre le match de Ligue 1 opposant le club Sétifien à la JS Saoura. De retour à Alger après son séjour à l’Est du pays, Petkovic a visité l’équipe de l’USM Alger en préparation pour la demi-finale aller de la Coupe de la Confédération africaine de football. Accompagné de son staff, Davide Morandi, Nabil Neghiz, Paolo Rongoni ainsi que l’entraîneur des gardiens, Merouane Messai, il a félicité l’USMA pour son parcours en Coupe de la Confédération Africaine et a encouragé les joueurs et le staff technique pour la suite de la compétition.
Petkovic a échangé avec l’entraîneur de l’USMA, Juan Carlos Garrido, ainsi qu’avec les joueurs, dont Zineddine Belaïd et Oussama Benbot, qu’il connaît bien depuis le dernier stage de l’équipe nationale en mars. Le coach suisse a adressé un message de soutien et de motivation aux joueurs avant de se rendre au stade Omar Benrabah de Dar El Beïda pour assister au match de Ligue 1 entre le Paradou AC et le Mouloudia Club d’El Bayadh.
